Thank You For Your Service

On this day after Labor Day, let me ask you a question. Did you think about all those who were working to make it possible for us to enjoy the holiday?

I did--perhaps because I was once one of those who were working while others were taking a long holiday. I considered the personnel who made possible our shopping for groceries, clothing, hardware, and so many other items. I thought about the medical personnel who were working during this holiday time. The more I thought about it, the longer my list became. Unfortunately, we've come to take this service for granted--even on Labor Day.

So, if you enjoyed some time off this past holiday weekend, please join me in saying "Thank you" to everyone who was working during our "time off." We appreciate your service.

I definitely appreciate people who have to or want to work on Labor Day. They make my life easier and safer!

I'll have to admit that I don't think about them--much less thank them--as I should. Thanks for your comment.

We had a home health nurse to come in and I was very thankful for that! When we ran a sawmill, we rarely took Labor Day off. If the men got it off. we spent the day repairing equipment.

Patricia, one of these days I'm going to delve into all your past--and be shocked. Meanwhile, I agree with the worth of nurses in general and home health nurses in particular. So many of us don't think of the people who work while we have a few days off.

I've enjoyed all the things I've done in my life. lol Did I tell you I once broke and trained horses? And was breaking one to saddle when he bucked hard and me and the saddle went one way and the horse the other?
