I was with my very young daughter. It was overcast, humid, and warm. I tried to hold it together for her sake and failed. She fell apart because I fell apart.
I was in Denver, finishing my term as President of the otolaryngologic allergy society, and just having finished the meeting of the otolaryngologists. It was tough getting home, but my wife's brother drove in his pick-up from north Texas to get us.
I walked into my church's office on the way to a Precept class and someone there told me. I read where someone had posted that they yearned for September 12, 2001, and how everyone in the nation came together.

I don't think I'll ever forget. Hard day.
Dawn, I hope we never let it go. Thanks.

Yes--this was my FB post for Sept 12. (Actually, I borrowed it from someone else, but the message is valid).
