Sorry About That

For those who've come to depend on my Tuesday posts (all three of you), "Sorry."

I just determined this morning (before leaving to get something done) that I'd forgotten to write this post. But that's okay. Why don't you make a contribution this morning? I can hardly wait to see what comments you've come up with.

See you Friday.

I can't imagine what it's like for authors today to have to come up with blog posts, Facebook posts and tweets every week or every day while working on their next novels (writing & editing, etc.), all the while having an actual life to live! I've been reading a lot in the past few months. Some new releases. Some older books that are new-to-me. A few I've owned for years that I enjoy re-reading. This morning I finished a book that will linger with me for a long, long time. One that will join my "keepers" on the book shelf. It seems I'm slowly building collections from individual authors. Thanks to all of you who put so much time, effort and passion into your work. It shows.

Elise, I've been pretty good about all this, but this morning just sneaked up on me (just as I was leaving to have routine lab work drawn). I can think of two or three novels I've written that might be called "keepers," and I hope to write more. Thanks for your comment.

You're so funny Dr Mabry. I love reading your posts. I'm sure you have more than three readers. We just don't always comment on each post. You are certainly forgiven for forgetting. Happens to us all!

Thanks, Gail. I appreciate that.

Dr. mabry, I look forward to your posts every Tuesday and Friday, and if you have stuff to do, wrll, that's understandable. I have an aqua therapy appt.this afternoon, so that will pretty much wipe me out for the afternoon. Have a great rest of the day, and stay cool.

Debbie, my only excuse is that life intervened--as it sometimes does. Hope the therapy session goes well. Sounds like it's tough, but maybe the result will be good. Best.

How well I know that feeling. In the back of my mind there's something I forgot to do, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is...Oh, yeah, that blog post that was supposed to go up eight hours ago...and I'm no where near a computer. :-0 You did good, asking your readers (all three of them - NOT) to come up with something. I'll have to remember that.

Well, as Scripture says, "Let him who has never forgotten something..." and I forget the rest.
Thanks for your comment, and your understanding.

Don't post much, but enjoy your posts. Funny thing about life - it seems to always get in the way. My husband called that "texture." For example, one time we sailed to Block Island, a hurricane was to hit the island so we had to batten down the hatches. I moaned because rain, wind, hurricane, etc instead of perfect weather for my vacation. He said, "That's texture. You'll never forget this trip." So true - it is a highpoint in our vacation adventures. I'm grateful Jim gave me many years of texture to remember, even though the end of his life got in the way of jointly enjoying more texture. Even so, I look forward to texture. Sure hope your life is providing you with bounteous texture.

Heather, you make a good point. It's not life interfering, it's the texture of life.
I'll have to tell the story sometime about the way I was going to mark the first anniversary of Cynthia's death by throwing a red rose out of a Coast Guard boat at the spot where we committed her ashes to the deep. Long story, but worth telling. Thanks for your comment.

You deserve a break! And see-- that post prompted more than three people to comment! I feel like a groupie! Love your novels and your posts. I learn so much! Blessings.

Paula, I've never had groupies. I'll have to check into that.
Thanks.

And I appreciate it, Jackie. I'll have to revise my estimate of those who read this blog upwards. Thanks for your comment.
