Here's another post about all the things that go into getting a book ready for publication, things that must be done many, many months in advance.
What do you look for in a book? Does a cover influence you? Here's an excellent post about book covers and some of the factors that go into their design. For my forthcoming novel of medical suspense, Code Blue, it took five passes with the design team before my editor and publisher were happy with the result. I think they did a good job. Hope you agree.

LOVE it, Richard! Covers and titles are so huge!
Richard: Excellent cover! I'll take three! Can you please sign them?

That's a great cover, Richard! Congrats!
Popping over from Rachelle's tweet. I love the cover. It's awesome! I love how the blue pills mentally reinforce the title, "Code Blue." Although, Pfizer marketing is so good, when I see the blue pills I automatically think Viagra! LOL! Sorry!
I love how the R in trouble is the RX symbol and what I think is MOST exciting is the word "SERIES."
Just so thrilled for you!
(deleted my above comment to fix typo).
I think apart from hearing you have a contract, seeing the cover has to be the most exciting part of the process! I love this cover, it's intriguing and makes me want to pick up the book and read it!! Way to go team!
Interesting article. I'm curious, though. What wasn't right about the first four covers?
It looks awesome! Wow, as an unpubbed author, I am so consumed by the submission process that I don't really think about the: then what? Designing a cover sounds incredibly exciting!
